about
Woves unite their respective influences to create thematic indie-electronic songs, reminiscent of a drive through the neon lights of nostalgic nights. Ricchio and Wade layer palpitating synths and opalescent guitars with analog drum machines underneath Zuzik’s seductive and mesmerizing alto, weaving threads of every color in and around the confines of every song. Ricchio lends his voice to backing and lead throughout, both vocalists feeding off of each other’s disparate styles.
The group's next single, So Used to Heartbreak, is due out May 28, 2021.
“So Used to Heartbreak” was released on all DSPs Friday, May 28 along with a colorful, impressionist video.
"The singer is so used to being heartbroken, that feeling of wanting to die every time, that they might as well die in the person's arms while it happens again," writes Ricchio. "Or, the singer is telling their lover that they're trapped by ghosts of love past and can't show up for what's in front of them now," replies Zuzik.
lyrics
Who put you in this position
There’s just so much we don’t know
I’ll let you make the first incision
It just seems the way to go
So won’t you follow closely
Follow closer to me
So used to heartbreak
I just wanna die in your arms tonight
So used to heartbreak
I need an alibi
Just to stay alive
So inconsequential with your heartbreak
You think you know
But I say you don’t
Cuz we know you better
I can see your ghosts
They wanna love you the most
And now you’ll never be deader
They say, won’t you follow closely
Follow closer to me
I can see you dancing with the devil to rhythm of the night
I can see you driving under the moonlight
Don’t stop, we’re gonna drive all night
So used to heartbreak
I just wanna die in your arms tonight
So used to heartbreak
I need an alibi
Just to stay alive
So inconsequential with your heartbreak
Can we just stay awhile
No don’t go hiding from your heart
